Is It Easy To Open Chakras?

Posted on Wednesday, November 17th, 2010 at 11:15 am

Chakra is a Sanskrit word meaning spherical which refers to the seven energy centers in our body that are circles of energy and the points where energy is received and transmitted. In simple words, one needs to open chakras and balance the energy flow so as to be physically, emotionally, psychologically and spiritually healthy.

It should be kept in mind by an individual that one should open chakras which are closed, under-active or which has its energy blocked or directed elsewhere. One needs to perform a chakra test to diagnose the ones that are faulty and then one has to open chakras through the techniques prescribed like meditation, physical exercises, sound and others.

In order to open chakras, you need to identify which ones are blocked. One can easily understand this from the physical or emotional fears he/she feels. E.g. if you have digestive problems, your solar plexus chakra needs to be balanced, or if you constantly suffer from fears of betrayal, etc, your heart chakra needs to be opened.

Moreover, one can also do a simple hand exercise to understand which chakras needs opening. Stand straight with your dominant hand stretched out on one side. Now, place your other hand one by one on the different chakras concentrating on them. Ask a friend to try pushing down your dominant hand and do this for two full rounds for all the seven chakras. Pushing down your hand will sometimes be easy and sometimes difficult. Remember that you need to open chakras for which your hand was easily pushed down.

The closed or faulty chakras being identified, you can now open chakras by some simple techniques. One of them is meditation. The seven chakras of our body are represented by lotuses having specific number of petals and colors against them. All you have to do is meditate by visualizing the flower in the spot of the chakra while intensely concentrating and focusing on it to open up.

You can open chakras by some particular hand positions or mudras. There are different sitting positions with different hand formation or mudras against each chakra. The mind should be calm and clear while these mudras are performed and such chakra exercises can be made more effective by the use of ancient Sanskrit sounds. These Mudras along with sounds, if properly done will open chakras you need to.

Lastly, open chakras by the weapon of positive thinking. Each chakra in the body has their own set of positives and negatives. For example, the positives of the solar plexus stands are aspects of personal power like courage, confidence and high self esteem. Again, the negatives of the heart chakra are those of fear of being hurt, being betrayed by a loved one, etc. Therefore if a person successfully works on raising his positive sides and removing the negativities, it will help in improving the condition of the chakra and thereby improve his physical organs linked to the same.

Thus, analyze the chakras which need balancing through the chakra tests mentioned and thereafter select any of the above techniques in order to open chakras for the wholesome development and wellbeing of yourself, in all aspects of mind, body and spirit.

Would You Benefit From A Chakra Test?

Posted on Tuesday, November 16th, 2010 at 4:26 am

The method of testing the seven energy centers of the body, evaluating whether they are open, over-active or under-active is called Chakra Test. Anatomically speaking, these seven chakras are major nerve ganglia which originates from the spinal chord. These are the energy whorls or points located in a vertical straight line starting from the base of the spine to the crown of the head where energy is received in and transmitted to.

The seven chakras that start from the base of the spine are the base or the root chakra, the ones at sacral, solar plexus, heart, throat, third eye, and crown of the head. Each of the chakras is named as par their location on the body. The chakras in concept have their roots in the ancient Sanskrit language of Hinduism. The state or condition of a person is reflected by the Chakras. The aspects could be anything like emotion, physiology, physical or spiritual. By the help of a Chakra test, the position and possible comfort level of a person can be judged.

Firstly, chakra test can be undertaken by a person by self health check up. Since physical blockages or problems are the easiest to understand, analyze the areas in your body which are not functioning properly to identify the blocked or misdirected chakras. For example, if you happen to have digestive, heart, lower back pain or thyroid problem, then you need to open or balance your solar plexus, heart, Root and throat chakras respectively.

The second point is that, not only physical problems, but also the analyzing of ones own emotions, like love, or fear, can be defined as a chakra test, e.g. if a person is suffering from insecurity, or the fear of rejection or criticism and is not being able to express himself then he can be sure that his root, heart and solar plexus chakras respectively, needs to e opened up or balanced.

The third point is that in this age of digital revolution and the internet, chakra tests can even be undertaken online. These are actually tests of about 50 to 80 questions asked to you about yourself, your fears, and your positive points, thus coming to conclusion that which of your charkas are open, closed or hyperactive.

The fourth point is that a chakra test can also be undertaken when you are not too sure about yourself. This can be done by giving your close friend or a person who knows you well, a set of questionnaires about yourself.

Finally, a chakra test, called a Kinesiology test is where you have to stand upright with your dominant hand stretched upwards and your other hand touching the seven chakra positions one after the other, concentrating on each respectively. You should ask your partner to push own your stretched hand. It should be done seven times to signify he seven chakras. This cycle should be repeated two or three times. It can be seen that pushing down the dominant stretched hand is difficult for some chakras, concluding that those chakras are open and well balanced, and vice-versa.

Either online or offline, the chakra test gives an idea that which of them are alright and which are the ones that needs balancing. After the tests are taken, it is suggested to take up chakra meditation and chakra exercises so that you can balance the energy meridians for a wholesome existence in your lifetime.

Learning About The Actual Merits Of The Numerous Diverse Meditation Techniques

Posted on Thursday, October 28th, 2010 at 6:38 pm

Meditation is a practice that is very old, yet still sees use today. It is a mental regimen of concentration and breathing to increase inner and outer awareness. Many people claim that it works well for relieving stress and tension. It is also used to study and understand difficult problems. There are a lot of meditation techniques that are commonly used today. Here are three to look at.

Raja Yoga

Many people may not realize that yoga is more than postures and stretching exercises. Hatha yoga involves increased flexibility of the joints and better circulation. Raja yoga is a the mental yoga discipline. It works to blend the body and mind together.

Raja yoga teaches that the real self is the soul and this soul has three basic parts. Those parts are the conscious and subconscious mind. The other part is the intellect. Thoughts flow like a river from the subconscious mind to the conscious mind. They pass through and are filtered by the intellect, before they get to the conscious mind.

When practicing Raja yoga, you think only positive thoughts of peace, calmness, and love. This helps to still the mind and relax the body. You utilize the intellect to keep any other thoughts from entering. In time, your mind will be filled with only pleasant and good thoughts.

Transcending Thought

Transcendental meditation or TM allows you to look inward on your thoughts. During the process, you concentrate on thoughts from primal and basic areas of the mind. As you do this, you “transcend” the usual manner of thought and see the real self. This is said to bring about great calm.

In this discipline, one sits for a few minutes and concentrates on a sound. Some people use the word OM. OM is thought by many to be the complete sum of all the sounds in the universe. By concentrating on the sound, it may allow a person to transcend normal thought processes.

Relaxing with Zen

Zen meditation teaches that one should clear the mind of all conscious thought. Once this happens, you will see the true self. When you have this knowledge, it will help you in all other facets of life. You will be able to separate the non-important from the important. Life will be easier to cope with.

One method is to sit and relax. Sitting on the floor with legs crossed may help. Breathe deeply and concentrate on the breath. If you wish, you can observe something like one of your hands. Use the concentration to help clear the mind. When thoughts enter, simply brush them aside and continue. It will get easier with practice.

Final thoughts

If you are looking for meditation techniques, you find many to choose from. TM involves concentration on a single sound like “OM”. This eventually allows to “transcend” normal thought, and to see the source of thought. Raja yoga teaches you to filter thought as it enters the mind. Eventually only good thoughts will make it through. Zen meditation allows you to see true reality, by clearing all thought from the mind. These methods may give you a different view of things and help you to learn how to relax.

As you explore how to meditate you gain access to the buried forces of your mind. Why not try basic meditation techniques right now.

Reiki Chakra Balance - Is It For You?

Posted on Thursday, July 22nd, 2010 at 7:33 am

Reiki Chakra Balance refers to an act of healing or attainment of healthy physical and mental conditions through transmission of positive energy through the technique of Reiki in order to align or balance the energy centers in a man’s body. The word chakra, having its roots in the ancient Sanskrit word ‘chakram’ of Hinduism meaning sphere, refers to the seven energy spheres or centers in a human body placed vertically from the crown of the head to the base of the spine.

The seven body Chakras are namely the Base, Sacral, Solar Plexus, Heart, Throat, Third eye and Crown of the Head Chakras which are point of energy reception and transmission in a human body. Thus, any blockage or misdirection in the energy flow causes physical and emotional ill health in man. Reiki Chakra Balance works towards avoiding and correcting such problems so that the energy can flow freely for attaining that ultimate physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual wellbeing of man.

Reiki Chakra Balancing is one of the ways in which these energy meridians are aligned. Other methods include practices like meditation, acupuncture, radiotronics, sound therapy and the like. Also known as Palm Healing, the Reiki practitioner acts like a vessel through which the positive energy from higher and infinite universal source is transmitted to the chakras of the healee. Specifically it involves transmitting the energy through the palms of the practitioner.

The process of Reiki Chakra balancing usually starts with the practitioner attaining a meditative state of mind and the healee lying down in a calm and relaxed way wearing loose clothing for being comfortable. Remember that more the comfort level of the healee, more open he will be and thereby more effective will be the process of energy transmission.

Since Reiki Chakra Balancing is all about palm healing, different hand positions exist depending upon the chakra locations for maximum healing effect. Usually it involves placing the palm flatly against the chakra location or a diseased body part that needs to be healed but hand techniques such as tapping, stroking, etc along with blowing or gazing is used. Mainly targeted around the head and neck area, other spots include front and back of the torso, knees and feet. In case the healee is not aware of his health issue, many a times the process starts with the practitioner scrutinizing the person’s aura, or the energy field emanating from the seven chakras to identify the problem areas of energy blockage.

Reiki Chakra Balancing can be practiced in different levels starting from a mere energizing of the physical body with the warmth of one’s palms to targeting a specific injured or diseased area using mystical Reiki symbols. These Reiki symbols are used for advanced healing purposes wherein they are drawn on the healee’s body and focused upon for higher energy transmission. It can also be that the practitioner holds his palms on the diseased spot for varied lengths of time in order to provide localized treatment.

Thus, it can be said that just by mere laying of hands, one can improve another person in all the aspects be it physical, or otherwise, without any medical interventions. Using proper techniques and ancient Reiki symbols, the energy is allowed to flow where needed so as to bring the chakras into alignment and proper balance.

It can be concluded by saying that though Reiki Chakra Balancing is extensively used in healing and is most popular where a person is diseased or has a serious injury, it is always better to proactively go for Reiki chakra balancing for smooth energy flow in one’s body for the ultimate physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual wellbeing.
