Power Of Plentiful Wisdom

Julia Shpak describes her book, Power of Plentiful Wisdom [AuthorHouse, $12.95, 108 pages, ISBN 9781452064741] as an inspirational work. Even the cover of the book, with its monochromatic picture of a fully blossomed tree with many roots — inspires. And just like those roots, Shpak believes that the meanings of all things, even of common things, run deep.

Using short and easy to understand allegories and nature-related metaphors, accompanied by black and white images, Shpak takes the reader on a self-reflective journey to find wisdom and deeper meaning in common things.

Much like David Baird’s Thousand Paths book series and The Chicken Soup for the Soul books, Power of Plentiful Wisdom provides the reader with a simple collection of tranquil thoughts and mantras. One of my favorites is the chapter on Pearls. The author opens the chapter with a quote from the late American news anchor David Brinkley: “A successful man is one who can lay a firm foundation with the bricks others have thrown at him.”

The allegory that follows this quote continues to read: “Oysters form high quality pearls as a natural defense against irritants like parasites and sand. Oysters seem to follow this golden rule: If you can’t remove it, then try to improve it. Hidden within this shell a pearl is created. It’s amazing how something so initially inconvenient can become so beautiful.

Some might pigeon-hole this work as a coffee-table book. However, I think that it may be better suited for a quick read on the go, or for a home or work office. The quotes, stories, and pictures are all meant to de-stress; it’s perfect for those times when you feel the need to drop out of the rat race and be still for a little while. I highly recommend the book for all readers.

Understanding Our Mind’s Capabilities

Posted on Friday, October 8th, 2010 at 11:54 am

Our modern day living and technology are often found to be pressurizing our minds and we end up thinking like machines. Always bombarded with thoughts and jumping from one task to another. But then mind has unlimited potential for creativity and we may have forgotten this fact .

Mind is the central processing unit in the brain that sifts through all the information. It retains the required information in the subconscious to be able to retrieve when required and the rest it discards. Though the mind is capable of doing this function efficiently and keeps the clutter out, not many people are aware and use the will power to do so. They just tend to let the mind get crowded.

The mind has the immense capacity not only to hold the thoughts, but to process them and discard the unwanted information and delete it from the mind. Only the required information is stored in the memory and can be retrieved at any future point of time.

The main function of the mind is not only to process and store the thoughts and information, but it also gathers all relevant information, reviews it and by way of objective and logical conclusion helps arrive at the right decision that is required to be taken regarding any subject that is being reviewed.

When you have set your mind on something, the mind power begins to act. It discards all other work and focuses only on the set priority, assimilates all information and directs the thought only the subject. By such power of concentration you can realize your goals.

When you have begun to concentrate on your goals alone, you will find that you get clarity of the direction and action to be taken to realize your goals.

In people who meditate, who are peaceful and have powerful and calm mind, they are able to use the sixth sense or what is popularly known as sixth sense, which guides the individual to the right decision. This sense works at a higher dimension in our minds and needs to be developed sufficiently before we learn to base our decisions on our sixth sense. When we have not yet developed the habit of listening to our intuition, we are likely to get misguided by our conscious thoughts and mistake them for the intuition and can end up making mistakes.

Mind has unlimited potential and creativity. It is perfectly elastic and can never exhaust itself from expressing its unlimited capacity. We tend to use only a fraction of the capacity of the mind and that too in unimportant matters to entertain our senses and body. Through self-discipline and clean thinking we can unleash the power of the mind.

Ideas To Promote Your Chances Of Enjoying Life

Posted on Monday, September 27th, 2010 at 11:20 am

If you aren’t enjoying your life right now, then you should take steps to learn how to more completely enjoy your life. There are so many ways to make this happen, but some of the best ways are the simplest. Read on below for the specifics of how to do it.

Three Tips to a Better Life:

1. Enjoy the time you have: The free time you have should be the time you are free from the bonds of work and stress. Try not to use it to worry about those things.

What that means is that when you are not on work time, you need to make an effort to keep off the clock. No more answering phone calls or emails. Instead, sit back with a book or do those puzzles you’ve been meaning to complete.

2. Clear out the trash: All the junk you never use could get a second lease on life in another person’s home. You just need to give it a chance.

Clear up all that used space in your home and give someone else the opportunity to use all that stuff you no longer have any use for. It is the right thing to do.

3. Let yourself reflect: Give yourself some time to just sit and think for a while everyday. It is called meditation and it can greatly impact the quality of your life by allowing you time to reflect.

Whether you actually set aside a half hour or just a couple of minutes, this is valuable time separate from the “free time” you set aside. This is the time for quiet reflection.

These are just a few of the keys to a better way of life, and you can follow them as you see fit. But they are good places to start for an awful lot of people. Some may choose to do all three, some may annotate their own ideas. In the end, life is what you make out of it, so do the best you can.

Blues instrumental music has its roots in the Deep South, when African Americans began to create a style of music centered on the songs they sang in their work fields and churches during the end of the 19th century. Throughout the years, the original blues sounds have evolved to include other popular sounds, such as rock and roll.

Instrumental blues music has its own characteristics, its own private way of curing the blues. Blues is dramatic, enchantment, rhythm that allows you to escape reality. The lyrics are depressed, repressed, a dark side of life. The lyrics are a way of expressing misery and woe. Instrumental blues is a way of leaving the lyrics behind and bringing the woe of your emotions to the forefront. It is a way to place the lyrics of your emotions within the music, rid you of the artists interpretation, and claim the music for your own.
