Key Tips on Buying A Massage Chair County Fairs Or Home Shows

Posted on Friday, October 28th, 2011 at 12:17 pm

There is a substantial increase in massage chair importers that are bringing in low quality chairs and selling them through various channels. In response to some of our customers that have experienced bad situations, I personally surveyed a number of venues such as the internet, home shows and county fairs for such importers. The result of input from my customer’s experience and first hand insight from my surveys has yielded the following list of 5 key tips on how to avoid being taken.

1. Massage Chair Motors are Vital: You want to find out 2 things. Find out where the motors are made. The best motors come from Japan. They are precision made and long lasting. The motors need sufficient torque to power through the massage, since all your weight is put on them. You also want to ask how many motors they have. It is far better to have fewer high quality motors then many. You want to avoid getting low quality motors or you will have many service calls in the future.

2. Beware of Over Generous Warranties: Many of these vendors promise very compelling warranties. The question is: Will they be here tomorrow to honor that warranty? One way to find out is to ask the salesperson if they have independent internet dealers, (That doesn’t mean their own website or E-bay!). Or even better, do they have retailers that have physical brick and mortar locations (preferable a known chain store). If not, then chances are they may never answer your call down the road for help. (The number you have reached has been disconnected and there is no new number–beep!).

3. Our Massage Chair is made in Panasonic’s Factory: I saw a few salesmen claim that their massage chair comes from the same factory as Panasonic or some other name brand. Of course, there is no way for you to verify this independently. I am sure Panasonic wants their resources to be used to make knock off chairs that are then imported to compete in their main markets at rock bottom prices. Yeah, right, sure! If a salesperson tells you their chairs are made at the same factory as a name brand chair then I think you know the answer. Steer well clear!

4. Jack of All Trades, Master of None: Beware of vendors at fairs and home shows that sell everything but the kitchen sink. This is a sure sign of a one man importing machine. Now, I have a healthy respect for the entrepreneur, but one must specialize. I have seen booths with a couple of massage chairs along with a million other gadgets. It is like a one man flea market. These guys import everything and anything, especially what they just got a good deal on. Seriously, who knows what massage chair will be on the next shipment? They are armed and dangerous. Use Extreme Caution!

5. This is The Deal of The Century: We all know the saying: If it’s too good to be true, then it probably is! This is certainly true when looking for a massage chair. The major manufacturers offer show specials, so you truly can get a good deal. Where you must be careful, are the small time vendors. They bring in a cheap chair loaded with features and sell it at ridiculously low prices. Avoid the temptation of short term gain for long term pain. You may be buying a long string of breakdowns, long waits for parts (if ever) and expensive technician service calls. Be careful of the deal of the century!

You can really get good deals and find some of the major massage chair brands and top models at home shows and county fairs. We just want you to go with your eyes open, so you find the right massage chair for your requirements. It should last you years and provide you countless hours of soothing relaxation. The Human Touch HT5320 Shiatsu Massage Chair in Review

Posted on Wednesday, June 22nd, 2011 at 11:33 am

The following is a review of the HT 5320 massage chair recliner. The HT-5320 massage recliner is manufactured by Human Touch. Of the many models from Human Touch, this perhaps has the most features at a more advantageous price then most of their models.

This particular model does follow the contemporary design of most of the models by HT. The 5320 looks more like a standard recliner. Although this model has many features for massage therapy, its design is much more industrial looking and is rather mundane. It has a particularly unattractive hinge which connects the leg rest to the chair frame.

The upholstery of this model is very soft to the touch. It is one of the better features for relaxing in this chair. There is an arm massage which uses soft arm cuffs. These can be tucked away which is a good thing as they are fairly unsightly otherwise.

Even though the design is very industrial and mundane, there are a number of good features considering the price point. This particular model helps to soothe your muscles from head to toe. It has many more features than the typical massage chair at its price range.

A newly designed remote is also included with this model of massage chair. This remote has two different faces with control buttons. There are control buttons located on the front of the remote as well as the side.

The acupoint detection system is a scan of your back, neck and shoulders. It searches for the different acupressure points and memorizes them in the systems computer. It then will customize each massage based on what it finds. This allows for an effective massage to help your healing experience.

The calf massager uses an air massage system. This uses compressed air to inflate airbags which provides a compression massage for the feet and calves. The arms or thighs can also be massaged with the massage sleeves. Just attach the flexible air bag around your thigh or arm for a massage.

One nice feature of many of the advanced recliners is stretching. Stretching is accomplished by holding the legs in the foot and calf massager. The chair will then begin to recline back which stretches out the spine.

Another interesting system contained in this particular model is the arm and thigh massage system. This unique system uses a flexible air bag. You can wrap this flexible air bag around your arm or thigh. It then provides a compression massage.

The air massage system covers your feet, calves, arms, thighs and also the seat. This is fairly good coverage for an air massage system. This enables you to have compression style massage available to most of the major muscle groups in the body.

A feature that I have mixed feelings about in this particular model is the flipping leg ottoman. I like the fact that you can hide the ottoman. But it is at the aesthetic expanse of the chair. This requires a rather large and bulky hinge device which is not well hidden in the design of the chair.

The HT 5320 has a good variety of massage features. This is one of the few models which have full body massage capability from Human Touch. The design of the chair is somewhat industrial and contains a little bulkiness in its appearance. However, the massage therapy is fairly good and does the job consistently.

Massage therapy helps your body to rid itself of built up toxins. Your first line of defense is the blood to remove toxins. Your lymphatic system removes toxins that the blood cannont. Both of these systems can be enhanced with acupressure massage therapy. Acupressure is a form a massage therapy from ancient Chinese medicine. Acupressure is a massage technique which helps to release blocked energy centers in your body. Science has confirmed the existence of meridian pathways using various electrical techniques. They noticed that certain junctures or centers could become inhibited or blocked causing the body to be out of balance. By applying pressure to certain pressure points in the body, the energy flow could be manipulated and restored. Science has now mapped out the body’s acupressure points and has cataloged over 350 points in the body.

Acupressure massage is performed using kneading, tapping and vibration massage techniques. These massage techniques are used throughout the body in conjunction with stimulating the acupressure points. Delivering the acupressure massage is achieved by making rapid circular motions with medium pressure on particular trigger points. Acupressure massage benefits the body by helping to relieve the built up of stress, muscle aches and pain and reduce toxins levels. This helps to get the body back in balance.

Massage chairs incorporate advanced technology to accurately locate the trigger points of the body. The software programs make a map of the users trigger points. The acupressure massage is then customized for each individual user. There are almost 100 trigger points in the back alone. Massage chairs have outstanding capabilities to stimulate your acupressure points and apply massage techniques such as kneading, percussion and vibration. These massage therapies are effective in relieving soreness, aches and pains in the back, shoulder and neck.

For the lower body, many manufacturers have developed air compression systems. The air compression systems incorporate specifically designed airbags with special nodes to activate trigger points in the lower body. When the air compression system activates, the airbag inflates and the node pushes gently into the trigger point. These are most commonly found for the back of the calves and for the bottom of the feet. Stimulating these trigger points help to induce total body relaxation and release accumulated tension.

New studies of acupressure massage are showing that it can help alleviate headaches, insomnia, dizziness, digestive disorders, constipation and in some cases even motion sickness.
