5 Simple Steps To Jump Start Your Goal Setting

Posted on Thursday, June 17th, 2010 at 5:23 am

There are actually five crucial, yet easy ways to check out, which i think are necessary for seemingly impossible goals to be achieved.

Step Number One

Spend some private time and write down just what the change or changes will be and why you want them, this is the first crucial step towards achieving goals. At this stage, write only what it is you’d like to achieve and why. The ‘how’s’ and ‘when’s’ can come later.

Step Number Two

This step too is very essential, and it has everything related to you accessing a state of inner peace. The peace I write about has little related to listening to relaxation music, essential oils in a burner or harps playing (though they can help). Achievement of your goal requires having peace through a quiet mind and inner calmness whatever the chaos around you and how long this chaos reigns.

When you have this (peace) you’ll have greater clarity, your creative self will make itself known, you’ll gain foresight into how you will achieve your outcome, focus, and negativity will have minimal impact.

There are those who know how to step into the state of peace; however others may require some gentle guidance.

If you find achieving a peace state challenging, you will discover 5 options listed below that may help you:

1.Find yourself some quiet time when you know you’ll be undisturbed and paint, draw, write, or map out all you can about your intended outcome.

2.Embark on a meditation program that will teach you a selection of meditation techniques.

3.If you’re willing to be coached, find yourself a reputable personal coach who can help you work through limiting beliefs and help you discover what your values are.

4.Seek out a mentor. This would be someone whom you admire, is inspiring, motivating, and successful, be available to you and who is a fundamentally positive, peaceful and calm individual.

5.Embark on a spiritual development program.

The world of alternatives is huge. To find something you’ll be happy with may take a little research, start by asking friends and family members to point you in the right direction. If they’re just not into that kind of thing it may be wise to broaden your search through the internet, books, and/or other members of your community.

Step Number Three

This essential step is about gifting yourself with a fresh outlook on life.

Looking at things in a totally different way and from a new angle will give you a more global perspective revealing greater possibilities and may be achieved by:

1.Asking parts of you what is crucial to you, each time you receive an answer continue by asking why that answer is crucial. When you can go no further ask yourself “how can you change this issue?” This may sound a bit strange, however from experience this works.

2.Transformational Coaching.

3.Understanding your motivation or lack of motivation. Once you’ve gained an understanding of you, you’re in a position to become proactive into making necessary changes toward achieving your goal.

4.Reading autobiographies of how successful people did it.

Step Number Four

By now you know precisely what you want; you can step into profound inner peace at will; have picked up great self-help and self-healing tools; eliminated limiting beliefs; and worked out your values. Now it’s time to finally pinpoint exactly how you’re going to go about achieving your goal.

There will be many ways on how you’ll achieve your goal; however the time frame will vary greatly depending on what you need to acquire first. Maybe you need:

1.To acquire new skills such as sales, writing, technology, or marketing skills etc. for that new career you’ve always wanted to be part of.

2.To seriously start networking yourself and your product. Become known in your community.

3.To gather a team of like minded individuals that will motivate and inspire you into achieving your goal, whatever it is. Constant negative input can quickly extinguish dreams.

4.Start an investment portfolio for your future if you’re after a secure financial future.

5.Read as much as possible on whatever your goal is, it will give you a fundamental understanding of what it’s all about.

Step Number Five

This last but important step (they’re all vital) is the calculation of when your outcome will finally eventuate. If you’ve followed the previous tips adding Step Number Four into the equation, you’ll be able to determine the time you can celebrate in a really, huge way of finally reaching the pot at the end of your rainbow!

1.Calculate the time it takes to complete your training courses or higher education.

2.Investment portfolio goals as discussed with your investment adviser.

3.Discuss with your business/personal development/ transformational coach how many sessions and ‘home-play’ will be required of you for you to achieve your goal.

4.Factor in time it takes for people to get to know you if you’re selling a product or you are the product. Speak with a marketing professional or someone ‘in the know’ first.

5.It’s vital to be realistic about time frames. Sometimes our greatest plans will go awry and will take much longer than expected (much like newly discovered actors and singers who have been plugging their trade for many years before hitting the big time!)

Sometimes, incidents will happen and be out of our control no matter what we do. Like my computer taking with it all my electronic office equipment earlier in 2005 (one of the most frustrating experiences I’ve ever had). To keep going required perseverance, patience and flexibility - it would have been so easy to give up!

Anyone can achieve goals through inner peace, perseverance, patience, flexibility and sometimes viewing situations from an entirely different angle.

Meditation Techniques To Soothe Your Soul

Posted on Thursday, December 24th, 2009 at 2:55 pm

The benefits of meditation have been well researched and proven over and over again in study after study. Although meditation is not a magic bullet, it has been shown to reduce heart disease, decrease anxiety and depression levels, stop headaches and lower blood pressure. It is amazing what the mind can do. Everyone can reap the benefits of meditation and learning new meditation techniques.

Grounding meditation brings you back into the here and now if you are feeling out-of-sorts, unable to concentrate and easily distracted. Unlike other meditation techniques, grounding meditation will boost your energy and able to concentrate easily.

Walking meditation uses your imagination. To start this meditation, get in a comfortable position and close your eyes. Next, picture a golden string moving from the middle of the Earth, into your body and out through the top of your head. Follow the golden string as it goes out beyond the border of the universe.

Now, go back to the place where this golden string emerges from the top of your head. In your imagination see it traveling out past the stars, past the sun and out of our galaxy till it goes beyond the border of all space. It ends up in a great bright white light. The golden string blends with the light and is safely rooted there. It becomes one with the light.

Follow the thread back down through your head and down through the Earth’s crust, deeper and deeper, until it reaches the center of the Earth. There you see the source of Earth’s energy: a deep yellow-orange core of light. The thread merges with the light and becomes one with it. You feel pulled toward the center of the Earth and grounded.

Now follow the thread up to your body and focus on your breathing for a time. You then feel the Earth firmly beneath your feet, as if your feet and Earth were magnetized. As you come out of your meditation, you will notice that you feel more energetic, focused, at peace and ready for whatever you need to do next.

One of the most straightforward of the active meditation types is the walking meditation. You get exercise and meditative benefits from a walking meditation. A walking meditation is an excellent tension breaker and does not take much time. Even little bits of time are worth your while. Remember not to take the dog, though. It wouldn’t be very meditative, I am afraid.

Start your meditation by just walking at a pace that feels right to you. Notice that your feet hit the ground and how that feels in your body. Feel your breath coming into and out of your lungs. Hear the rustle of leaves. Just focus on the present moment. If your mind starts to wander off, let the thought go without any stress whatsoever.

Some people like to say a phrase or mantra while they walk. Some like to say a prayer, such as the rosary or a prayer specific to their religious belief. Others prefer to listen to calm music, maybe the sound of a waterfall or birds singing.

Meditation does not have to be something mysterious, done only by monks sitting on cushions in a temple in Tibet. Everyone can find a meditation technique that appeals to them. Meditation can be done at any time of the day or night, and any repetitive activity (such as raking leaves, doing the dishes, painting, etc.) can be made meditative and easily fit into daily life.

For anyone looking into how to lose weight, we refer to doing the popular mediation techniques to burn fat by building muscle. With the right resources, this is very easy to do. There are a lot places to look at, we refer to you doing the Internet.

Meditation…Quiet your mind, heal your body, You can have the meditation skills of a Tibetan monk in just minutes.

Brainwave Entrainment was first developed in the 1930’s by the pioneers who were studying newly discovered brain waves. These brain waves were found by newly invented machines which could read the brain waves of live people. This was the very beginning of a new science. . . the science of looking into the live brain.

The method of Brainwave Entrainment quickly puts the subject into a state of deep meditation. We will cover why that is important shortly.

An unbelievable early discovery was that it was possible to influence brain waves by using sound. No one had ever imagined this would be possible . . . except that perhaps some music was said to be exciting or calming.

Influencing brain waves was found to occur when a method of putting slightly different beats into each ear was discovered . This bold, new technique was termed entrainment at that time.

Beats are nothing more than sounds that beat over and over like a drum . . . of course drums are not used. Musical or semi musical sounds work best.

When the mind hears a different musical beat from each ear, it wants to normalize these sounds. The brain can do this by creating a third beat which is a result of the two sounds the brain is hearing. This is heard as a beat which takes place within the head of the listener. No one else can hear it.

This sound, which is inside the head, is called a “Binaural Beat”

Binaural beats are most fascinating because of the way in which desired beats are obtained.

For example: a 500 Hz tone in one ear and 510 Hz tone in the other ear will produce a subsonic 10 Hz tone which can only be heard inside the head. Thus, it is true that a binaural beat is the difference between the tones which are heard by the ears. (This example would be somewhere in the middle of the Alpha range. Alpha brain waves are usually the target for change in human thought or behavior.)

Remember that this effect is achieved without either ear hearing the binaural beat when the headphones are used. Instead, the brain produces the pulse by combining the two tones. Each ear hears only a certain different tone.

Some state that binaural beats do provide help when treating certain conditions..

Little, if anything, about Binaural sound and its effects is known by most medical practitioners since this is a new modality. However, there are places which offer Binaural Beat technology. This may be used to achieve positive results.

Now what about MEDITATION? Well, recent scientific studies have revealed that meditation is very good for humans. It quiets the mind and body and helps with healing and with mental attitude. Binaural beat technology can quickly bring one to a state achieved only by Tibetan monks who spend many long years learning how to quiet the mind into a peaceful meditative state. Binaural beats can take you there in just minutes.
