Soothing Music for Healing Sessions

Posted on Friday, July 15th, 2011 at 11:14 am

You’ll find a lot of soothing music today which is loosely bundled together inside the genre referred to as ‘New Age’. Plenty of this music is actually nothing less than pleasing background music or Musical wallpaper as I often call it. It usually consists of repeated synthesized tunes over droning bass notes.

This isn’t the only kind of new age music however. Some of the new age has been channeled to be used as healing music or as music to go with healing or massage sessions. At frist you could accept that this music has similarities to all the other new age music but after having listened to it for a bit you may begin to understand that it has an excellent quality and as you listen you’ll have a tendency to get lost in the melodies.

The composer of any channeled music usually opens up, perhaps going into a type of meditative state and allows the music to flow through them from a higher realm. It’s not too dissimilar from the phenomenon of automated writing where the writer simply holds the pen and lets their hand be moved.. The composer of channeled music will probably hear what they have played afterwards and wonder where it came from as it sounds completely foreign to them.

The method of healing using alternative treatments like Reiki or shiatsu just to mention a few, is based on giving energy to certain parts of the body so the body can proceed with the of healing itself. In many treatments and techniques it is considered that every part of the body has its own vibration and to which it is resposive and can be stimulated by. Some use gems and crystals to excite the vibration, others use color. Music is naturally the most base sort of vibration to which parts of the body can react in the process of healing. Music which has been composed or channeled for healing will contain vibrations which are basically sub harmonics of the higher healing vibrations. If this healing music is used in association with a healing process like Reiki as an example then the results can be very powerful.

Music for healing is basically just really good quality music which has in a number of cases been channeled and contains the healing vibrations necessary for the body to start to repair itself. This music is very rich to listen to and is ideal if used in association with therapies and healing sessions. It helps not simply the flow of energy but also the well being of both the patient and the therapist alike.

It is usually selected by yoga, massage or other advisor to support the care or make it even more delightful.

The tunes utilized in the compositions are repeated, piano or other instrumental ; they could also include delicate sounds of human voice. The length of 40 to 1 hour complies with the length of the care.

The music is said to be invented in early sixties of 20 century when the first album with electronic new age music was released for so called Zen Meditation. After the stream of meditation music flown and currently the market is filled in with range of relaxation music types.

I would like to introduce one type of relaxation music that has been released nowadays not that long ago. It is called alphamusic. The aim of such music is to put the person into relaxed state called alpha. This is the state which is similar to the state we are in when we wake up in the morning fully refreshed after a good night sleep. Your brain and body are awake and allow you to work and think exceptionally well. The most insightful decisions and inventive things are done when we are in exactly that state. Someone who has completed a duty and sits down and rest is considered to be in an alpha state. Someone who takes a break to meditate is generally in an alpha state. Someone who goes out for a walk outside a busy room is again in an alpha state. More often it reflects the meditative state of mind. Alpha brainwaves are slower and higher in amplitude. Their frequency ranges from 9 to 14 cycles per second, so they slow down your brain function and help you calm down and relax.

So when we discuss the alphamusic it is that type of music which put you into a meditative state an alpha.

Research has shown that 4 to 20 minutes of listening to the relaxation music called alphamusic, may improve your concentration and ability to work by over 100 %. Stress, depression, ADHD, learning disabilities or sleep disorders are usually treated by therapists or doctors that apply such relaxation music into their therapies with wonderful results.

There are many types of alphamusic cds, mp3’s available in the market, some with the years of research and experience has been already been called a great invention and more and more people, therapists who see the incredible results of playing such music while therapy are applying it and recommend to one another.
