Energy receiving and transmitting centers, these chakras are located in a vertical line from the crown of the head till the base of the spine and are scientifically stated to be linked to the major nerve ganglia originating from the spinal cord. The body chakras reflects the level of consciousness, body functions, developmental stage or the archetypal elements of the person and talks about him in his entirety, that is, his physicals, mental, psychological and spiritual condition and wellbeing.
The Base Body Chakra of Muladhar located at the last bone of our spinal cord is all about group force and group identity. Physically it is connected to our immunity system, legs, rectum, bones and feet. Its strength can be felt for example, when you watch your country win a gold medal. Any blockage or misdirection results in problems in the above areas of the body along with viral and epidemics.
After the power of your group identity, the Swadhisthana or Sacral body chakra is all about the power of relationships and the power of choice. This duality results in the energies to tell us to make a choice and thereafter gives the lesson that you can not have absolute control. The common fears in this case are fear of loosing control on other people, relationships, money, authority, sex, power, addiction, etc Known as the sacral body chakra, physically it is linked to reproduction and can give rise to ovarian cancer, arthritis, lower back pain, etc. if not directed properly.
After the group and relationship powers, the power of one’s personality is resonated in the Manipura body chakra which starts acting since the time of puberty. This body chakra is all about the concept of self and the development of individuality. Hence, while the positives are those of ambition, courage, self esteem and self respect, the negatives lie in the fear of rejection, criticism and consciousness regarding physical appearance.
The fourth of the body chakras is that of the Anahata Chakra. Commonly known as the heart chakra, it is located centrally to the seven chakras and thus is the central powerhouse of one’s life force where his body meets his spirit. This chakra teaches us that the path towards spirituality lies in divine love. The negativity here arises due to the fears of commitment, loneliness, betrayal etc and the healing aspects are those of unconditional love, trust, inspiration and hope. Since negative energies here may not only lead to emotional issues but also major health ailments, forgiveness is the single powerful tool against all ailments, be it emotional or physical.
The throat chakra of Vishuddha stands for one’s power of will and this is where the struggle between the emotions and power of choice takes place. The fears here are that of loosing control over your own life and this body chakra teaches the lesson that faith is everything. It can be said to be the meeting point of the head and the heart.
One of the most spiritually important body chakras is that of the Ajna or the Third Eye Chakra which is located between the eyebrows of man. Opening of this chakra with the help of meditation helps one to get detached from all the subjective perceptions all around and gives the power to separate the truth from illusion.
The final of the body chakras is that of the Sahasrara Chakra at the crown of one’s head which stands for the ultimate level of spiritual enlightenment of man. A chakra that houses all positive energies, all energies here are aligned in the attainment of the ultimate universal truth and realization of the true potential of man through devotion, prophetic thoughts, psychic powers, mystical thoughts and advanced meditation.
