If you value your health, you should be aware of the stresses your body is subjected to day in and day out. As they say, health is wealth. But is exercise and dieting enough? Or is doing the wrong exercise routine doing more damage than you think?

This is where yoga comes in. Yoga treats of all three - the mind, the body and the spirit, as one. Yoga aims to restore the balance we have lost by uniting these three essential components through asanas.

There is a wide range of yoga poses. Each pose is designed to exercise specific parts of the human anatomy. There are stretching and twisting poses that go along with breathing exercises. Each exercise may seem as physical activities. But, this is hardly the case as each asana is an exercise in mind, body and spirit. Because of this approach, regula yoga practice has shown to be effective in combatting certain ailments.

Yoga concerns the control of one’s senses and the blocking of mental activity to achieve a supreme state. Many people mistake it as being either a physical activity or a mental exercise. It is actually both.

While the phyical benefits of yoga are the obvious ones, there are other benefits as well. As mental stress usually accompanies physical strain, yoga addresses stress and tension on both levels. Yoga treats both the mind and body as one and that is the reason why physical poses are accompanied by mental exercises.Yoga concepts of proper posture, right breathing and deep meditation are know to ease both mental and phyisical tension.

That is what you will become when you embrace yoga and its benefits. Your body grows stronger, more toned, more flexible and your stamina improves. As you move from one pose to the other you will notice you become more relax and you become better prepared to handle stressful situations.

Yoga aims to unite your mind, your body and your spirt. Its intended outcome is a better you. Indeed, yoga is a true path to a healthier life.
